Ancestral Ties Series

The pain of my father’s passing in 2020 brought this series to life. Considering that his spirit and mine were no longer in the same plane of existence, made me start thinking about him, the past, other ancestors, as well as my future grand-children and my entire lineage through time (past and future) that I do not and will not know. These concepts brought me to the series “Ancestral Ties”. All of the pieces reflect the moment of bringing the past and the future together to positively impact my Presence. The choice of the word Presence is deliberate as it highlights the importance of each individual along with the power that individual brings into my life reverberating through time. They reflect a surreal existence where neither sky nor earth is clear and that lives in a pocket between memories and dreams. Each piece portrays an individual ancestor's impact.
